Utahn
In 1905 Utahn was settled on the Duchesne River. Originally it was a compact group of log cabins and a church house. After a few years the people built more substantial homes on their own lands. The town saw its peak in the late 1920's with about 200 people. After a few more years, people became discouraged at the low production of the land and began to move out. A few people remained, even until today. There are still a few farmers in the area.
There is not much left of the original town. A couple of older homes still stand on private property visible from the main road. The cemetery might be worth a visit as well.
To find Utahn, drive 6 miles north of Duchesne, then three miles west into the Duchesne River bottoms on State Highway 35.
