Victor

A number of families moved out to what became Victor in the late 1880's.  They were in the process of building the Cleveland Canal to salvage the overflow from Huntington Creek.  They also took the responsibility of maintaining a reservoir.  By 1910, many of the farms had turned sour because the dam had broken.  By 1920, the town site was abandoned.

Victor can be reached five miles on a dirt roads northeast of Desert Lake or six miles due east of Elmo on mainly gravel roads.  Be sure to stop by the Victor cemetery and read the headstones.
