Richville
Ezra T. Benson's knitting mill.
Richville is a restored ghost town. There are still many foundations and ruins that lie scattered in the area. However, a few select buildings have been restored and maintained. One of which is the tall knitting mill. A lot of money and work has gone into the building. Tours are given of the mill and it is quite impressive.
Richville is one of the oldest ghost towns in Utah. In 1849, Brigham Young and Ezra T. Benson had several mills built in the town. The many springs in the area helped provide power to operate the machinery. Richville became less prestigious in the next 20 years and people began to migrate more towards what is now Tooele. By 1889 the mills were quiet, the town deserted.
Richville is located four-tenths of a mile west of the Mills Junction of U.S. Highway 40 to the west and State Highway 36 southward.
