Newhouse

As you see from this picture, there's not much of anything out at Newhouse.  Newhouse is in the middle of nowhere. Who knows what it was that possessed a group of people to come out and live in the most isolated, desolate part of the Great Basin.  There are a couple of foundations here, but this picture was actually more interesting.

Newhouse was founded in 1905 for mining.  After 5 years, the Cactus mine gave out and the town was abandoned shortly thereafter.  A Hollywood movie was shot at the ghost town in 1924.

If you really feel the need to visit Newhouse, head 4.7 miles west from Frisco. Turn right and head North on a dirt road.  Drive 2 miles and you'll be out in the middle of nowhere.
