National
Old school house.
National is a couple miles west from Coal City. There are still a few houses standing. The homes here seemed a lot nicer than the typical miner's shack. This was one of the few towns around the Sweet coal mine. The town started in 1908 and died around 1950 when the Sweet mine closed.
To find National, take the Consumers Wash Road heading west, which is between Helper and Price. After the first 3.1 miles, you'll cross a railroad. Go another 7.3 miles and National is just off to the right. Be sure to stop by Coal City on the way.
